🧩 Overview
This project explores the design of a gamified rewards system for a sports platform, focused on increasing user engagement through points, challenges, and redeemable rewards.
The goal was to move beyond static UI and build a connected system where every user action contributes to a sense of progress and achievement.
🎯 Problem
Users interacted with the platform but lacked clear incentives to:
· Stay engaged over time
· Understand the value of their actions
· Feel rewarded for participation
· The challenge was to design a system that:
· Motivates users through progression
· Clearly communicates value (points → rewards)
· Remains simple despite underlying complexity
🧠 Approach
Instead of designing isolated screens, I focused on building a cohesive product system composed of:
· Points (Pelotas) as a core currency
· Challenges to drive user behavior
· Rewards to create aspiration and retention
· Clear tracking and feedback loops
⚙️ System Design
💰 Points Wallet
A wallet-style interface inspired by fintech patterns:
· Clear balance visibility
· Activity tracking
· Earning vs spending transparency
🎯 Challenges (Gamification Layer)
Challenges act as behavioral drivers:
· Guide users toward key actions
· Provide structured goals
· Reward consistency and participation
· Each challenge includes:
· Progress tracking
· Reward visibility
· Clear completion states
🎁 Rewards System
A curated set of redeemable items (e.g. gaming consoles, gear, tickets).
Key decisions:
· Strong visual hierarchy (featured rewards)
· Clear cost in points
· Aspirational presentation
· The goal was to make rewards feel earned, not just claimed.
🔁 Redemption Flow
The redemption experience was designed as a moment of achievement, not just a transaction.
Includes:
· Confirmation modal
· Success feedback with visual impact
· Post-redemption tracking
📦 Redemption Tracking
A dedicated section allows users to:
· Track redeemed items
· View statuses (pending, shipped, delivered)
· Maintain trust in the system
This transforms the experience into something closer to a product lifecycle, not just a one-time action.
🎨 Visual Direction
The visual system is built around:
· Dark UI for focus and contrast
· Golden accents (points) to represent value
· Soft glow and lighting for a subtle “reward” feeling
· Realistic product imagery to reinforce desirability
🧪 Outcome
The result is a scalable rewards ecosystem where:
· Users are guided through meaningful actions
· Progress is visible and motivating
· Rewards feel valuable and attainable
This system can:
· Increase engagement
· Improve retention
· Create long-term user goals
🚀 Key Takeaways
Gamification only works when it’s clear and transparent
· Rewards systems need structure, not just visuals
· Tracking and feedback are essential for user trust
· Designing systems > designing screens
